This is the Taj Mahal hall of chicken coops.
– 100% cedar construction
– 16 gauge PVC coated 1/2″ weldmesh screen (product imported from Italy and used in McDonald’s playland
– 3 feet of 1″ mesh surrounding the concrete curb foundation underground
– metal roof, cedar cupola, copper weather vain
– HDPE lined interior (food grade cutting board, easy clean)
– easy collect egg hutches
– insulated walls
– polycarbonate windows
– vented roof as well as via the cupola
– … it was built to their Design.

Stepped cement curb to handle the ground grade
If you look closely, there is a racoon paw print on the lower dutch door.
Spoiled Chickens ! HDPE lined 4′ high (High Density Polyurethane – or Food Grade Cutting Board), Cedar above, lots of windows, ridge vent and cupola. Nesting Hutches are temporarily closed as the chickens are too young.
Oops.. photo before battens installed, windows, entry, ramp brings the chickens out to grass floor.

2019 Toronto Chicken Coop By-Laws

– limit of four hens per property. Roosters are not permitted. We suggest a minimum of two hens, as they are very social creatures.
– Coop must be no more than six feet six inches high and a maximum of 100 square feet of floor area
– Coop must provide each hen with at least 4 sqft of coop floor area, and at least 10 sqft of roofed outdoor enclosure.
– Coop must include a perch for each hen that is at least 8 inches long
– Coop must have nest box(es) of a size that is suitable for the number of hens
– Coop must have a roof and doors that will be locked at night.
– Coop must be at least 1 metre from any property line and 3 metres away from all windows and doors of a neighbour’s house.
